Welcome to the K-P Elementary! Our education center consists of grades K-4th grade in Kingsley (grades 9-12 share the same building). All of the elementary students have incredible opportunities to learn and to be successful. Academic courses include reading (guided reading groups), math, science (F.O.S.S.: Full Option Science System kits), writing, spelling, social studies and other miscellaneous subjects.
The kids also have music, art, and physical education at least once a week. Our students and staff are excited about technology and its integration across the curriculum. Grants and investments from the district in chrome books, WI-FI systems, and other technologies have been evident and are benefiting our kids.
There are other great adventures experienced by our students, including the annual Grandparents’ Day in the fall, kindergarten Read-Ins (parents come in multiple times throughout the year), an elementary spring track meet, two concerts (including our annual Kindergarten Graduation), and educational field trips (Omaha zoo, museums, conservation areas, interpretive centers, and more).
Each day includes innovative teaching strategies and interventions both in the regular classrooms and other areas such as Talented & Gifted, Title 1 Reading, Reading Recovery, and the Resource Room. Students take part in challenges with Accelerated Reader, Jump Rope for Heart (with PE), Food Drive (helping those in need/community benefit), and the Box Tops challenge (two competitions a year).
The curriculum meets the Iowa Core and is consistently being upgraded. We value our great support from our parents and the great communities of Kingsley and Pierson including the annual Panther Ball fundraiser! Finally, our highly qualified teachers in the elementary provide an environment following our mission statement: “Excellence in Education!”
Go Panthers! Mr. Rob Wiese Kingsley-Pierson Elementary Principal
